Teleological Truth#

Teleological Truth: Truth is for the sake of something. The telos renders a proposition true, in that, by advancing by means of grasping the pre-truth and acting according to which, a proposition is made truth.

  • Teleological truth is hence necessarily local, time-bound. It is generated in time.
  • Historical truths are teleological truths, but truths, even logical ones, when it comes to the contents, at least, are all teleological. There is a certain thirdness that is needed in order that unformed pre-truth becomes truth and potentiality becomes actuality.
  • To flatten the truths and view teleological truths as eternal but only emerges in time as if they are shadow cast by light through some eternal real objects is like terminating the ever-growing infinite. This termination requires another tower of infinity: an infinite tower of infinity, and ad infinitum, which happens in set theory.

Measurement#

Is the process that generates truth and falsity by means of the actualization of potential. The actualization is in detail the resolution of the finite to infinitesimal and its re-integration - the process of integration is that of coincidentia oppositorum, where the infinitesimal meets the infinite.

It is by means of measurement that Chaitin's constant is computed. The computation of Chaitin's constant is also the process of the completion of Cantorian continuum: from intuitionistic continuum discrete entities are generated by the action of actuality, and these points are reassembling into Cantorian continuum.

The further the completion goes, the higher in the hierarchy of infinities one must go. That's the primordial truth that descriptive set theory is telling us.

Categories#

  1. The genesis of categories in time
  2. The generation of reality from categories
  3. The teleological character of categories - the mechanism of category-generation w.r.t. local teli
  4. The local and global character of categories.
  5. The mathematico-logico mechanism of time-procession.
    1. Kolmogorov complexity, continuum, descriptive set
    2. infinity and infinitesimal, and their relations to tertium non datur and ex contradictione quodlibet.

Reality truly is a construct and it is constructed according to our categories. But that doesn't mean since it is a construct we should not accept. Moreover,

  1. Which one particular construct or family of constructs to accept is another matter: every reality is a construct so you need to choose one.
  2. Even if reality is a construct, and it will always be a construct, how categories dynamically morph themselves and determines the shape of this constructed reality can be studied - in the relative sense.
  3. Overall, a construct corresponds to a telos which is primordial, given before consciousness emerges.

Perspectivism is really a bad name since it is essentially just Kantianism. What thing actually is corresponds to thing in itself.
And it always seems to me that physicists and philosophers with affinities to physics are unconsciously committed to the stances that affirms the existence of the objective, the "Platonic", etc. And for this they tend to be "set theorists" that affirms a kind of "static" universe where what is genuinely new in time is impossible.

Flattening#

What's common in modern science, mechanistic metaphysics, set theory, Hegelian metaphysics:

  • Flattening.
  • Extensional framework.

Where flattening is really the law of excluded middle: either this, or that. An entity is either subject or an object. The very meaning of being a subject is seen as given by an object rather than being internal to the subjective. A negation is at the same time a positive statement. Either/Or but without considering the will that actualize it. Sweeping disregard of the immanent/internal/intensional by means of skipping the generative infinity and grasping the extensive. Rigid foundationalism that disregards experience/choice, or more to the point, the dynamical and life.

Time#

Synthetic mathematics, becoming, infinitsimal#

Synthetic mathematics, in particular synthetic differential geometry, gives a way to not only asymptotically approximate, but capture the dynamical, the continuous, the becoming. And it shouldn't be seen as an incident that synthetic mathematics roots itself in topos theory, and the best logic that suits topos theory is the intuitionistic one.

The Aesthetic and the Mathematical#

Is there a deeper relay between the Aesthetic and the Mathematical?
I'm not at all satisfied by, and even hate, those "beauty in mathematics" and "art and mathematics" nonsense. Childish symmetry plays. I sense a deeper relay between the two, but cannot grasp what is it that this relay actually connects. Now my intuition:
- A sort of dynamic structural form.
- A sort of schemata generation principle.
- A sort of subject-object coupling.
- "Different modalities of a same entity that emerges from the switching from different facets of a telos" or something like that.
The following two lines are crucial:
- (metaphysical-theological restructuring) or in a complete reformulation of the categories which originated in, roughly speaking, the 12th centuries, e.g. in the work of St.Bonaventure (De Redcutione Artium ad Theologiam), that may possibly in a structural manner resolve the tension that maintains the cleavage,
- (teleological harmony) or in the form of an absolute parallelism that while retains the autonomies of the given categories subjugate them to an all-encompassing historical entity with its own purpose and its own end so that the categories become the entity seen in particular perspectives but not the whole,

Time. Liquidity, under a change of perspective, of the relations between eternal forms - a result of subject-coupling. Measurement.
Human subject, Peircian pragmaticism.
Topos, internal logic, duality.
Teleology: Continuum -> Discrete: individuation, Discrete -> Continuum: Time

Now:

- Timaeus
- Aristotle's Metaphyiscs, Lambda, 10.
- Brouwer and Schelling
- Ethics & logic & Duns Scotus
Aristotelian teleology and Platonic cosmology (hierarchy, division, unity of Being) subdued by the primacy of Will
Phenomenological studies: Marian apparitions. Answer to Job.

"Examination of the contaminations and osmoses between categories", and attention to the machinery of contextualizations and modulations between differential fibers of the world so as to reintegrate them into a whole - pragmatics.
And from the pragmatics distill the structural principle that governs the pragmatical forms = investigation into the principle of teleological harmony.
But I don't like the idea of gluing and shifification. I'm more interested in the dynamical aspects of "teleological segragation and generation of categorie

Mythology#

It is not that human mind is shaped by mythology, or rather, it is not that what mind apprehends is distorted by mythology, but rather, mythology exhibits the general, metaphysical form and pattern according to which conceptual entities dynamically structure themselves.

Sometimes history and mythology are intermingled and confused, theogonic geonologies and actual historical events mirror each other, and people infer from this that mythologies are allegorised histories. But this is a mistake. History can only be shaped in accordance to a particular mythology, and various particular mythologies, when their schematic forms are investigated, coalesce into morphological hierarchy.

"Metaphysical form" may be a misnomer since it is not in terms of ontological significance that the word form should be interpreted. It should be an entity in what might be called "teleological metaphysics".

Remark: A constant impression that occurs in me is that the semantic forms of sentences that explicate the mythological elements in theogonic/cosmogonic myths are rigid and "natural", in the sense that, first, many of the elements in the narratives are sheer metaphysical consequence, and second, since what is metaphysical here is first and foremost conceptual, they are semantically constrained to adopt their form in the narratives.

The Emergence of Polytheism: It's interesting to note that the emergence of polytheism might have something to do with the split of the Ur-language into multiple languages. The Tower of Babel.
