(Philosophical) Logic
We do not credit a logician with originality when he first presents the law of contradiction. But we do credit him with originality in view of the particular ways he shapes rules for deduction and proofs.
Some aspects of logic can only be grasped when it is studied under historical lens. For example, the relationship between logic and metaphysics, how a certain formulation of logic leads to different metaphysics, and how metaphysics and epistemological considerations shape logic. Thus, here we will be studying logic from historical perspective.
