Panpsychism
Often it is claimed that panpsychism is there to prevent a certain sort of discontinuity. But we also have emergence, which doesn't require the constituents of a thing to possess a certain quality for the thing itself as a whole to possess that same quality. Organism is not really a good example since living organisms are lives all the way down.
A better way to illustrate this is by considering critical phenomena, especially those that can be dealt with renormalization methods. When the correlation length approaches infinity, interactions between constituent parts are no longer local, but these parts, by rescaling and integrating out the ultraviolet interactions, coalesce into larger parts and effectively exhibit group behaviors. In this process the model of determination is obtained by reducing the parameters of description: irrelevant operators are "washed out".
Thus to argue for panpsychism the acknowledgement of the reality of information and its semiotic nature (always need to be interpreted) is essential. Consider not the static substance of stuff, but how it interacts with other stuff. This is not necessarily a reduction of interiority to its relation with the external, and hence not necessarily a Hegelian determination of a thing by its relation with the others, since there must be something to initiate the semiotic act (and I suppose more, for example, since there's this radical contingency).
